We have carefully designed our privacy settings to put you in control of your data. Depending on the Avast product you use, you can choose from a range of options designed to help you manage your privacy settings.
CommunityIQ is a monitoring service which enables us to improve the security of all our antivirus users. If you are a user of our antivirus, free or paid, this function sends us critical information about a threat detected on your device, so we can observe how it spreads and block it. This is vital for the functioning of our antivirus and, by gathering more and more information about the threats our users face, we can continually improve our ability to keep everyone’s device secure. If you’d rather not share this information, no problem. You can opt-out at any time.
New product development feedback helps us create new products and features that keep our customers safe online. If you are a user of our free or paid products your device is able to share useful details about your app-usage with us. We then use this information to enhance the performance of our products and keep you, your device, and your data better protected. Don’t worry, If you don't want to participate you can opt out whenever you want.
Third-party analytics tools help us understand our customers better, allowing us to see things such as how and where our customers download our products, how they interact with our services, and what promotional campaigns they respond to. If you are a user of our free or paid products, these third party analytics tools enable us to maintain the functionality, effectiveness, security and reliability of our products and business services and activities. If you don't want to share this information, you can simply opt-out.
When using some of our products as a free user, you may be asked to grant us your consent to share your de-identified and stripped data with our subsidiary Jumpshot. This data is used to help Jumpshot build products and services that provide trend analytics for companies.
We are always seeking ways to improve our users’ digital lives. From time to time we may inform you about potential problems with your device or software and suggest effective solutions. If you are a paid user of any of our products, you may choose to opt-out from receiving these offerings by declining to share app-usage data with us.
