Avast attended the RSA conference and had many visitors to its booth. Avast CTO Ondrej Vlcek spoke at the conference and broke down the sophisticated CCleaner supply-chain malware attack, providing new unpublished findings about the unique stealth, steganography and exfiltration techniques used by the attackers.
Ondrej Vlcek is Avast’s EVP & GM, Consumer. Prior to becoming EVP & GM, Consumer and CTO, Ondrej served as Avast’s Chief Operations Officer and before that as Avast’s Chief Technical Officer, managing research and development, including the Avast Virus Lab. He joined Avast as a software developer in 1995 and was part of the team that developed the company’s first antivirus program for Windows in 2003. He holds an M.S. in Mathematics from Czech Technical University in Prague and commenced post-graduate studies in non-linear optimization at Charles University in Prague's Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
