Avast EVP and CTO Ondrej Vlcek spoke about the future of IoT security.
With over $20bn devices coming online by 2020 manufacturers, users, and suppliers of IoT technology must consider the impact of realising the dream of a "connected everything”. In his talk, Ondrej Vlcek addressed how security threats need to be fought via the network, via artificial intelligency technology.
Ondrej Vlcek is Avast’s EVP & GM, Consumer. Prior to becoming EVP & GM, Consumer and CTO, Ondrej served as Avast’s Chief Operations Officer and before that as Avast’s Chief Technical Officer, managing research and development, including the Avast Virus Lab. He joined Avast as a software developer in 1995 and was part of the team that developed the company’s first antivirus program for Windows in 2003. He holds an M.S. in Mathematics from Czech Technical University in Prague and commenced post-graduate studies in non-linear optimization at Charles University in Prague's Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
