Regional Offices Spur Employment Opportunities in Charlotte; Support Demand for Avast’s Growing SMB Security Business

CHARLOTTE, N.C. May 18, 2015Avast Software, maker of the most trusted mobile and PC security in the world, today announced the opening of its Charlotte, North Carolina office bringing 60 new IT, marketing, business development and tech support jobs to the area. The Charlotte office will be the launching pad for Avast for Business, the company’s free, easy-to-use, cloud-managed security offering. Luke Walling, general manager and vice president of Avast for Business, will head up the new office.

Avast for Business protects small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) from cyber-attacks and data breaches - all for free. Since its launch in February 2015, Avast for Business has shown strong early adoption boasting 75,000 new users in just two months. By bringing the freemium software model to small businesses that are often priced out of the security game by expensive resellers, or settling on using consumer-grade security software for business purposes, Avast for Business provides an easily managed and simply scalable solution for SMBs.

“We’re thrilled to open doors in Charlotte,” said Walling. “With state-of-the-art facilities in North Carolina coupled with regional offices across the globe, Avast is in prime position to ensure our customers receive top-notch security solutions for their PCs, Macs and servers.  As small business owners realize the essential need for data protection in today’s digital world, we’re happy to provide a free product that’s both reliable and secure. Charlotte has been home to me for many years and I’m pleased to report such a strong start.”

The newly outfitted offices located in North Charlotte feature an impressive glass walled interior full of color and natural light in every corner of the space, a game room and contemporary work stations for each employee.
