~ Acquisition adds 40 mobile developers to AVAST’s growing mobile business ~

REDWOOD CITY, California, July 24, 2014
AVAST Software, maker of the most-trusted security in the world, today announced the acquisition of Inmite, a mobile application development firm. Through the acquisition, AVAST adds 40 experts to its mobile products unit, reporting to Jude McColgan, AVAST’s recently appointed President of Mobile.

Inmite has a proven track record of developing apps for leading companies spanning the automotive, banking, media and telecommunications industries. The company also developed the world's first Google Glass banking prototype, and is recognized by Google as a Top Developer on Google Play.

"The companies with the best talent win. Inmite’s team consists of great mobile developers and by joining AVAST, they’re going to further accelerate our growth and expand our capabilities across mobile platforms,”
said Vince Steckler, CEO at AVAST. “Cybercriminals are increasingly targeting smartphones and tablets – and consumers want our solutions to protect them from Wi-Fi attacks, phishing threats, or having their device lost or stolen. They want to be free to use their mobile devices, knowing they are in safe hands. Inmite will bring continued innovation to meet this need for our global users.”

"Inmite was founded with a vision of pioneering the development of new applications that simplify and improve people’s lives. We’ve achieved this objective with successful projects in the finance, media, telco, and automotive industries. In order to make a greater impact worldwide, we wanted to go big with a global mobile leader who believes in technologies for the future. AVAST shares this vision and is the ideal partner for us,"
said Barbora Petrová, spokesperson of Inmite.

The Inmite team will join AVAST in global offices in Europe, Asia and North America.
