PRAGUE, Czech Republic, February 2, 2012 – avast! Free Antivirus has been selected by readers of PC Actual – a leading IT magazine in Spain – as their most popular security software in “PC Actual Awards”, the publication’s 19th annual competition for new products.
avast! Free Antivirus 6 beat out nearly 20 other security products to take home the trophy in the “Security” category.
PC Actual Awards is the annual competition for new products which were launched in the previous 12 months. PC Actual technicians select their favorite products and place them into a range of 14 product categories. Readers of PC Actual then step in and vote online for their favorite product in each category. All participants were entered into a drawing where they could win prizes such as a trip to Stockholm, smartphones, and a notebook.
PC Actual has been a major source of computer information of Spanish consumers for over a decade. With a readership of 340,000, it is one of the most read IT magazines in Spain. Since this is the first time that avast! has won this PC Actual contest, we are thankful that our Spanish fans remembered to vote.
